James Griffiths was born and raised in a small town called Rustington in the South of England. On finishing his exams, he joined Specsavers full time, he had been working part-time whilst at college. He became a dispensing Optician ABDO. His career developed rapidly, and he became one of the youngest people to be put through their Pathway to Director programme. This is designed to develop their Business, people, and marketing skills alongside their technical knowledge as Opticians.

On passing this course he was offered the opportunity of his own Specsavers in Canada, which James saw as a great opportunity to showcase his skills and expand his horizons. In late 2023 he came to Toronto to view some prospective sites and on arriving in Alliston James felt at home, finding the town had the same feel as Rustington his hometown back in the UK. He opened in April 2024 and has had a great welcome from all the locals and now feels part of the business and social community.

James is now very keen to utilise his business and leadership skills to support the Alliston business community and assisting in developing avenues to help trade prosper and grow within this vibrant town.
